Open Positions

 

Position Title: Vice President of Clean Gulf Associates Inc.

The Vice President (VP) works under the direction of the President to assist in all aspects of day-to-day activities of the organization. As directed, the VP is involved in managing CGA activities including overseeing CGA’s Technical Operations Subcommittee, contract and project management, administrative and contractor organizational oversight and performance, budget preparation & tracking, and expenditure approvals. The VP is an Ad Hoc member of all CGA committees including financial administration and Technical Operations. The VP works daily with Equipment Contractor employees who are dedicated to CGA’s operations. The VP fills in for the President in his absence and maintains approval authority outlined in the Delegation of Authority procedures. The VP will also assist the President in meeting the President’s Roles and Responsibilities as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Management – Assist in developing and oversighting design, scope and definition of new and existing projects by researching and sourcing the most effective suppliers of services
  • Contract Management – Provide oversight of all aspects of contracting including contract drafting and review, for multiple service and equipment contractors, ancillary contractors engaged in CGA member support, and new equipment acquisitions.
  • Financial Management – Oversee all aspects of the budgeting process and tracking of expenditures of current projects and contracts. Provide financial advice, analysis and recommendations in support of Board of Director’s decision-making, resource allocation and cost-effective use of funds.
  • Business Planning – Evaluate the organization’s long term strategic outlook for the Board of Directors, establishing baseline conditions for future financial support and new equipment acquisitions, supporting CGA activities with government and industry, maintaining oil spill response services and equipment capable of providing resources in the open water open water and near shore environments to meet the spill response needs of the membership.
  • Emergency Management – Interface with member companies, regulators, Oil Spill Response Plan developers, spill management teams and the oil spill removal organizations (OSROs) for planning purposes as well as during actual oil spill events.
  • Risk Management – Identify, evaluate and prioritize potential risks by instituting safe practices to minimize, monitor and reduce the probability of risks occurring with the deployment of CGA personnel and equipment for exercises, equipment deployments and spill response.
  • Customer Relations – Interface with Health, Safety and Environmental (HS&E) senior managers of member companies to educate and train them on CGA capabilities as well assist in preparedness for spill response events. Work with member companies on contracts, dues allocation, and oil spill preparedness needs.
  • Government Relations – maintain working relationships with government agencies responsible for overseeing oil spill exercises, deployments and response operations including U.S. Coast Guard, Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
  • Oversight of CGA contract operations ensuring highly trained, experienced and sufficient workforce capable of responding to all oil spill responses. Additionally, ensure equipment is well maintained and response ready.
  • Ability to organize and coordinate meetings including agendas, presentations and overseeing logistics for inter-agency, various company, and vendor meetings.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in the field of emergency oil spill response, planning and operations
  • Minimum 15+ years managerial experience in oil spill response related work
  • Prior experience in the supervision of personnel during emergency response operations
  • Knowledge of the National Contingency Plan (NCP)
  • Prior participation and practical experience in the National Incident Management System (NIMS) at the Section level or above
  • Prior experience working with government agencies including USCG, EPA, BSEE, and NOAA
  • Prior experience working with Industry, preferably with the Exploration and Production Industry
  • Prior experience in developing and executing interagency, company, leadership, contractor meetings and agendas
