Clean Gulf Associates is a member of the Global Response Network (GRN). Oil spills remain one of the most vivid and emotive threats to our environment. They can have a devastating impact on the wildlife and people who live and work in spill-affected areas. GRN was set up to help minimize that impact.

The National Response Center (NRC) is staffed by Coast Guard personnel who maintain a 24 hour per day, 365 day per year telephone watch. NRC watch standers enter telephonic reports of pollution incidents into the Incident Reporting Information System (IRIS) and immediately relay each report to the pre-designated Federal On-Scene Coordinator (FOSC).

Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement – BSEE works to promote safety, protect the environment and conserve resources offshore through vigorous regulatory oversight and enforcement.

Emergency response is also an area where the Department has attempted to respond to citizens’ complaints and environmental emergencies.
